Company seeking to fill an immediate position for a Thermal Diatomite Production Engineer in our Bakersfield, CA office. This position will report directly to the Diatomite Technical Team Leader and will be responsible for implementing the reservoir recovery strategy on our North Midway Sunset Diatomite Thermal Recovery Project. This position will support the Diatomite Technical Team Leader in the following duties:

• Measurement and Steam Distribution: Manage the development/implemention of effective, low cost well testing systems. Develop automated testing schedules to improve characterization of well performance. Evaluate and improve steam distribution/measurement system. Ensure proper maintenance of steam measurement/distribution system.

• Heat Management: Provide support in design & implementation of heat management facilities: Coolers, Heat Exchangers …etc. • Flowback Optimization: Optimize flowback performance of wells on production to maximize oil production by regulating backpressure at the surface. • Wellbore Failure: Develop surveillance routine to identify wellbore failures. Work with drilling group to identify replacement well needs. • Manage Recompletion Process: Work with reservoir engineer and drilling group to identify and recomplete wells with depleted intervals.

• Surface Event Mitigation: Test recompletion strategies for breakthrough wells. • New Well Online Process: Design and implement process for minimizing start-up time for new wells. • Maintenance and Operations: Work with operations to implement surface/sub-surface maintenance management program. Provide support in optimization of all other surface facilities including: water processing and treating plant, oil treating plant, steam generation plant. Experience: • 5+ years thermal oil recovery experience. Diatomite knowledge a plus.

Minimum Education: • BS Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering Required Skills: • Must be a results driven, self-starter, with the ability to succeed in a team environment. • Must have excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills. • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities to deliver expected results. • Experience working with production surveillance, analysis tools: OFM and OVS • Experience using other tools: Microsoft Office
