The Production Manager for the Smithsonian Channel is responsible for various aspects of production management:
. work with internal producers and outside production companies to vet and shape budgets
. provide cost reporting for in-house productions and assist in cost report evaluation of 3 rd party productions and co-productions to ensure producers meet contractual milestones
. keep multiple projects on or under budget and to schedule
. arrange meetings, conference calls, book travel arrangements for crews
. help maintain communication between Development, Production and Post Production departments for in-house program tracking
. monitor contractual milestone deliverables for co-productions and original productions
To qualify, you must have:
. 2- 5 years of production management experience
. excellent written and oral communication skills
. strong understanding of production processes
. ability to handle deadline pressure and ability to muti-task
. excellent negotiation and supervisory abilities
. proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
A big plus would be knowledge of Filemake Pro, EP budgeting, Quickbooks and accounting principles.
