Visit our website at: www.leatherman.comLeatherman Tool Group, Inc. is seeking several Production Punch Press Operator Level 3's if you live outside area and are looking to move to Portland, Oregon. We will offer $2000.00 relocation assistance and 1 month of temporary housing (subject to tax per government regulations) that could be used for first month rent for apartment or house - max $1,200. We offer a .50 cent shift differential for swing and .75 cent differential for graveyard shifts worked in addition to base hourly pay rate while working one of these shifts. Pay range depending on experience is between $14.66 and $18.00 per hour depending on level of experience. The successful candidate(s) for the Production Punch Press Operator Level 2 or 3 will operate and set-up a variety of metal forming machines (Progressive Die Stamping, Fineblank or Conventional Progressive) to close tolerances and complex geometry. Perform complex and non-routine set-ups where tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain. High volume production environment, operating production equipment. Duties: Operate a variety of machinery to fabricate component parts. Perform difficult set-ups and change-overs on equipment to close and complex tolerances. Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Makes mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements as necessary. Conduct regular quality audits of parts produced by measuring and inspecting components to tight tolerances. Prepare recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality. Mix chemical solutions. Perform duties of Production Machine Operator Level 1 and Level 2 as necessary.
Experience and Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED required. Two years formal technical training and one year work experience in manufacturing environment or three years technical job experience with progressively complex machining assignments required, five years preferred. Progressive Die Stamping or Fineblank experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of at least 75% of all Production Machine Operator Level 1 and Level 2 operations preferred. Experience operating CNC equipment preferred. Advanced machine operation and mechanical knowledge including the ability to set up and change over various types of equipment required. Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production systems preferred. Ability to effectively utilize advanced shop math and computer skills required. Ability to read, comprehend and write English at an advanced level to effectively utilize and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), work instructions, and technical manuals required. Understands Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and metrology fundamentals and can apply concepts while measuring components and/or finished tools required. In addition to hand tools, can use at an advanced level optical comparators, hardness testers and height gauges required. Use creativity in inspection methodology when it is not pre-defined required. Advanced blueprint reading and problem solving skills required. Demonstrated skills in manual dexterity and rate control required. Ability to apply problem sensitivity, critical thinking and advanced problem solving skills required. Excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication and teamwork required. Possess strong written and oral communication skills required. Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative required. Effectively prioritize and follow through on assignments and projects required. Leatherman Operating Systems (LOS) Training/Certification: Attend LOS classes relevant to job.
