For more information about Blommer Chocolate company, please visit www.blommer.com.Production Supervisor Responsible for day-to-day supervision for production employees in assigned work area; direct and coordinate work resultsing in smoonth shift operstions, high quality products produced on-time, attention to safety, work area sanitation and encouragaing a motivating work environment.Major Functions and expections Comply with and play a leadership role in all requirements of Blommer health & safety policies and procedures as well as all federal and government regulations including OSHA, Ontario Health & Safety Act & Regulations. Plan, direct and coordinate day-to-day activities of assigned department or area; ensure work assignments are accomplished to meet production goals and scheduling needs. Set clear goals with employees; provide regular feedback in a constructive manner. Provide guidance and training to ensure company policies and procedures, including safety, HAACP, GMP, allergens, are followed and plant rules enforced. Address violations, document as required, communicate with and seek support from Production Manager, Human Resources, or management. Communicate with other supervisors to coordinate operations and understand current conditions of work area as part of shift transition and daily coordination of production. Maintain a positive employee environment. Resolve operator problems or complaints as they arise seeking assistance from Plant Manager and/or Human Resources as appropriate. Conduct regular crew meetings to review production needs, goals and to seek resolution for issues. Work with operators to identify ideas for improvement; utilize CI and lean manufacturing tools to evaluate and implement improvements. Conduct initial incident investigations, complete paperwork and issue notification to management team for all safety issues, near misses, spills or food safety incidents; support the investigation and corrective action process. Maintain operations data and prepare reports, metrics of production results. Attend production update meeting and discuss issues that impacted the data. Troubleshoot and resolve downtime issues. Work with engineering, maintenance and sanitation departments in required maintenance and sanitation of equipment and facilities. Issue work orders for any equipment malfunctions or repairs. Employee Relations Demonstrate positive leadership practices including setting clear goals with employees and providing regular feedback; complete annual performance reviews. Ensure implementation and effectiveness of new hire training, cross training, training on revised SOP procedures or transfer training for your assigned area. Ensure implementation of training is successful and timely; provide feedback to both trainer and trainee; follow up with training documentation and submit to HR or appropriate department.
Education: Two years associate degree, vocational training or equvalent experienceExperience: Three years manufacturing supervision experince with production floor experience; food manufacturing experience preferredSkills: Demonstrated skill in organizing work, dealing with multiple issues at one time, setting priorities and planning ahead; able to work toward goals and address obstacles as they occur in the daily operation. Lean, Kaizen manufacturing experienceGood computer skills, Microsoft Office SuiteCompetencies: Excellent communication skils, integrity, leadership, problem solving and continuous improvement.
