One of several team members who recieves blood products from mobile blood drives and fixed sites. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for manufacturing of blood and blood components. Process includes transferring information from forms into computer system for creating, labeling, and distribution of component products.
Uses universal precautions while manipulating scales, centrifuges, extractors and other lab equipment to meet time sensitive deadlines while maintaining the quality and integrity of the blood products.
This position is Wed to Sat 12p-10:30p.
High school diploma with two-years lab or customer service experience required. MLT (ASCP) or two years college in a science related field preferred for components positions. Work experience in a laboratory environment also preferred. Must be able to satisfactorily complete training to perform moderate complexity testing as defined by CLIA. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products as related to the position. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods of time.
