SCAD Savannah seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in the interior design department. The interior design program is accredited by CIDA and is housed within the School of Building Arts, which includes the architecture, architectural history, historic preservation, furniture design and urban design programs. Both the undergraduate and graduate interior design programs have been ranked #1 for 2012 by Design Intelligence magazine. The Interior Design BFA and MFA programs challenge creative students to become innovative designers capable of critical thinking and effective communication. Professional ethics and values are enhanced within the context of social, environmental, and global design practice. Applicants must have enthusiasm for design excellence, collaboration with other majors within the college, and a commitment to education. Qualified candidates should have a terminal degree, or its equivalent, in interior design. Experience may be in commercial and/or residential design, with a preference for health care, hospitality or high-end residential. NCIDQ certification and/or LEED AP as well as working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, and/or other Adobe programs is a plus. College-level teaching experience in studio courses, rendering, history, and computer applications is desirable. Candidate must provide strong examples of work demonstrating professional and teaching experience with space planning and furniture placement; the selection of furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E); as well as with the preparation of Construction Documents.
