The Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) at the University of Georgia, invites applications and nominations for the position of Department Head. Twelve month, academic appointment, tenured. Responsibilities: The Department Head will articulate and communicate a clear vision for the department future and effectively interact with a constituency that includes academic, government, industry, alumni, and students. S/he will engage in collaborative research activity that will lead the College to greater scientific prominence and serving the needs of the public; mentor students and junior faculty; build on existing strengths in the College; engage in governance at the college level; and participate in professional organizations. The Department Head reports directly to the Dean of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, and is a member of a leadership team committed to the integration of the missions of research, instruction, and extension.
