Position Description
Clinical scientist in rehabilitation
The Department of Neurological Surgery and the Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center (http://louisville.edu/kscirc/) at the University of Louisville announces a search for an Associate Professor or Professor with interests including, but not restricted to neuroplasticity, neuromuscular recovery, and/or pediatric spinal cord injury. Successful candidates should have a MD or PT and Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated productivity and excellence in their faculty research careers. It is expected that a strong extramurally funded translational research program in pediatrics will be developed. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative and productive faculty with research strengths in molecular, cellular, and rehabilitation aspects of spinal cord injury. Outstanding core facilities will enable new collaborations. This tenure track position is supported by a substantial endowment that will be used at the discretion of the successful candidate with the potential to become an endowed chair at promotion and tenure. Membership in the graduate faculty will be through a secondary appointment in an appropriate basic science department.
