As a Science & Engineering Technical Assistant you will perform the day-to-day management of overall contract support operations for a unit within DHS.

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (MS-Project, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
Experience providing administrative support.
US Citizenship
Secret clearance and ability to obtain DHS Suitability.

Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of SAFETY Act program and its role within DHS

Responsibilities:
Serve as point of contact for applicant inquiries, to include applicant website inquiries.
Post award decision documents, requests for information, and award modifications in the system and on the website to include award dates and outcomes.
Prepare, track and post all pre-application documents in the system and website.
Schedule all pre-application conference calls and completeness conference calls.
Schedule all meetings between applicants and the agency.
Assist applicants with applications; provide superior customer service to ensure applicant retention throughout the application process.
Track applications throughout the completeness and awards processes to assure adherence to prescribed timelines.
Edit and finalize all approval/decision documents for Director signature/approval
Prepare and edit award decision binders for Under Secretary approval.
Assist with advancement of award packages to the Under Secretary for approval/signature by coordinating with points of contact within appropriate offices to ensure the efficient processing of award decision documents.
Construct the weekly application status report.
Prepare all briefing documents, presentations, and reports for various types of meetings (e.g., quarterly Congressional meetings, applicant meetings, inter-office briefings).
Perform complex (e.g., data analysis) and routine administrative duties in support of the Director and his staff.
Respond to taskings from Executive Secretariat.
