Seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program Assistant to provide program support for University Organizational and Professional Development ( UOPD ) Assistant Directors and the UOPD Event Coordinator. Primary duties include preparation of UOPD training workshop materials, classroom set-up/breakdown and reservations, and responding to inquiries from staff and faculty regarding UOPD training workshops and services via answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting visitors. The Program Assistant will also provide support for general UOPD office tasks such as mail distribution, photocopying, filing, and office coverage.
Previous experience providing program or administrative support in a professional office environment; previous customer service experience; proficient use of current office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and specific tasks such as mail merges, spreadsheets, and calendar entries; excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with staff and faculty; excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments; ability to safely and independently move and arrange classroom furniture; must be dependable and able to work independently and in a team environment.
Previous experience with event planning and/or classroom scheduling; familiarity with standard classroom audio visual equipment; working knowledge of Virginia Tech policies and procedures.
Must have a criminal background check, Must have a driver's license check
