Position Title

Program Coordinator II

Position Summary

Implement and coordinate a successful student life program that supports the achievement of institutional objectives to increase student persistence, academic performance, graduation rate, and transfer rate to bachelor's degree programs.

Responsibilities

Responsible for on-going development and management of the student life program, student leadership, and student government to include training and development. Supervise and provide support for academic, social events, and community service sponsored by the Student Association. Be available for students to advise, assist, and counsel. Oversee the monitoring of the Student Center hours which includes hiring, training, scheduling and overall maintenance of the center. Supervise the Student Life Assistant and student center monitors. Direct student service learning for leadership and student government. Arrange student council responsibilities to participate in campus Noon Forums.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Master's degree in education, social work, or related field. 2. Two years of experience working with student life programs. 3. Understanding and experience in retention issues. 4. Cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings. 5. Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects. 6. Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing. 7. Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience or Understanding of the Native American cultural background of the majority of residential students. 2. Experience implementing a successful student life program. 3. Knowledge of grant writing, submitting grants, and grant administration.

Work Environment

Office Environment: Employees are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
