HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a full-time Program Coordinator at our client site located in Miami, FL. This full-service facility provides its members with a complete range of health, fitness and wellness programming including a variety of innovative group exercise classes, back safety classes, on-site massage, ergonomic education and workstation assessments, health screenings, fitness assessments, full-service locker room, and much more. As t he Program Coordinator, you will work out of two offices, overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and memberships. You will also perform a variety of general health fitness professional responsibilities including but not limited to exercise prescriptions, equipment/facility upkeep, and instructing group fitness classes. You will be responsible for creating and developing programs, presentations and fitness incentives to maximize participation, outcomes, and customer satisfaction. You will be required to travel.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Primary:
Conducts fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results; designs individualized programs to meet the participant’s interests, abilities and goals.

Participates in membership drives to acquire new participants; enrolls new participants and conducts facility, program and equipment orientations.

Coordinates internship program; oversees the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of student interns.

Performs facility maintenance responsibilities as needed; ensures facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and stocked at all times. Ensures personal and facility appearance meet standards.

Verifies equipment is operating properly and immediately reports any potentially unsafe conditions.

Maintains participant files and database.

Projects and other duties as assigned.

Secondary:
Oversees all programming within designated areas; coordinates the development, implementation and delivery of activities, promotions, programs and special events.

Facilitates the close alignment of programs with the client’s business needs, employee culture and corporate health strategies. Utilizes standard HealthFitness programs whenever possible to meet client needs.

Promotes program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive participants.

Coordinates marketing of programs to maximize outreach and engagement; develops and distributes electronic and print promotional materials to communicate program offerings and special events.

Supervises program delivery; ensures staff are properly qualified, trained and certified (as applicable) and monitored for quality assurance.

Gathers program outcomes data and measures results; evaluates and reports on program effectiveness in meeting objectives and makes recommendations for future program enhancements or modifications.

Researches health & fitness educational topics within their specified areas and identifies appropriate participant educational materials.

Participates in business planning and budgeting process relating to program and service offerings in their area of expertise.

Provides individual and group exercise instruction as applicable; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline required.

Minimum 1 year related experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating and delivering effective programs including budgeting, marketing and promotions.

Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required.

Industry recognized Group Exercise certification preferred.

Personal Training certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA, NASM) preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to work effective both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.

Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescriptions.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective business relationships will all levels of the organization.
