University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Program Coordinator to help support the Corporate Administration Department for its Oakland location. This position is Monday thru Friday daylight office hours. Provide educational strategies and patient care to families, parents, and caregivers in all domains. Coordinate appointments for families and other departments within the hospital, monitor budgets, and work collaboratively with the physicians. Facilitate presentations in the community for parent groups, school districts, University of Pittsburgh graduate programs

UPMC is developing the Telemedicine infrastructure to deliver Clinical Services via new Technological Advancements and PSD is leading the Clinical operationalization and Marketing of this new delivery method in order to maximize the use of new models of Health Care Delivery. This requires operational coordination across many different UPMC Business Units and PSD Clinical Departments. This position will report to and work directly with the Executive Director- Telemedicine to develop our Telemedicine policies, procedures and establish the clinical and operational work-flows across Clinical Specialties.

Responsibilities

The position will have direct responsibility for 1) operationalizing new Telemedicine Clinical Service lines; 2) coordinating between IT, Call Center Support, and the end users at the Distant and Remote Site; 3) Training providers interested in utilizing Telemedicine Technology to deliver their Clinical services; 4) Assist with developing the Telemedicine Clinical & Quality measures across Specialties. This position will also have responsibility for facilitating communication between departments and business units across UPMC and will act as the Telemedicine program coordinator.-Responds to patient calls and referrals to conduct intake of new patients.

Schedules patients; maintains schedule for DS providers

Supervises work study student to send out intake/parent/professional information packets

Provides clinical Family Support services for all DS child patients.

Provides clinical Family Support services for all DS adult patients (other sites)

Coordinates with Early Intervention Services in Allegheny County to provide developmental assessments for children with developmental delays and DS approx. 4-6 per month.

Provides follow-up clinical support services for families, including tracking and reporting of lab results.

Interfaces with patients, staff, faculty and community to provide education regarding issues related to the healthcare of individuals with DS.

Interfaces with CHP foundation to support development of DS program.

Develops and monitors implementation of budget.

Maintains medical records for DS patients; supervises work study students regarding pulling of charts and filing.

Interfaces with community to advocate for advancement of health care/programming for individuals with DS.

Monitors administration of program including ordering of supplies, etc.

Board member for Down Syndrome Group of WPA

Maintains database for patient demographic information

Coordinator pilot study for adults w/ Down Syndrome.

Provides operational oversight service to the Physician Services- Telemedicine Division, our Clinical and patient community under the commitments of the internal philosophies of client service and the UPMC dedication to Service Excellence

Develop and maintain detailed Telemedicine project plans, this includes utilizing standard project documentation and methodology and project tracking and reporting procedures.

Develop and maintain detailed Telemedicine work-flows and operational plans as we expand the use of Telemedicine Technology to Specialty Service areas across In-patient and Outpatient Teleconsults.

Assist with developing new Telemedicine Models of Specialty Care delivery and establish work-flow templates, policies and procedures.

Coordinate with the Clinical Department Administrators/Physicians to extend their Specialty Services via Telemedicine to distant locations across the UPMC campus and to outside customers.

Develop Patient Satisfaction and Quality Measurement reports for existing and future Telemedicine Service lines and maintain data of these reports.

Provide concise and timely status reporting as required. Prepare and present project status reports to Management, Executive Leadership and others as required/requested.

Develop and implement key metrics to measure and report on progress of initiatives.

Assist team members in resolving project problems, escalates issues when necessary and facilitates decision making.

Develop cross-functional, change management and implementation strategies; ensure that all of the participating parties have committed to effective implementation of the processes and procedures.

Identify trends and process improvement opportunities for Telemedicine.

Assist with achieving Telemedicine Operational & strategic goals as well as UPMC system wide strategic goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Three (3) years of experience
  • Clinical human research experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance
