SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Director of Education and Training, ASQ Learning
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The primary responsibility of this role is for the educational integrity of education products and programs or lines assigned by the Director of Education and Training, ASQ Learning Institute/Learning Offerings (LO).
SKILLS: Demonstrated work ethic and communication skills; understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and teamwork and partnering skills. Demonstrated instructional systems design skill specific to instructor-led and especially e-learning courseware. Demonstrated capacity for embracing change and learning new technologies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively within groups and one-on-one situations are required. Must have proficiency with PC’s and related software as well as the ability to adhere to multiple deadlines.
EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree in related field required (equivalent experience will be considered). A master’s degree in the field of education, with an emphasis on instructional design, adult education, or curriculum design/development is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years’ experience in training program and curriculum development is required. Must have worked through and managed instructional design processes (ADDIE or similar) for instructor-led and e-learning and have worked with Subject Matter Experts. Extensive experience with program development software and authoring tools preferred. Experience in translating learning from instructor-led format to e-based is a plus.
LIST OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Develop assigned training courses based on the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) model of Instructional Design.
2.Create and manage a project plan for creating, implementing or enhancing assigned training programs.
3.Develop new learning solutions in various media including instructor-led, blended, e-learning and virtual.
4.Evaluate customer responses to overall program and product lines and ensure continual improvement of new and existing programs.
5.Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts in the effective design and delivery of all learning programs and events.
1.Internal - Frequent interaction with all departments in ASQ, especially Knowledge Offerings, Event Management, Certification Offerings and Membership.
2.External - Frequent contact with the public and members/volunteers through Subject Matter Expert contributions to course content .
1.Planning and scheduling. Plans and schedules instructional design projects that become part of the Learning Offering portfolio.
2.Budgeting and forecasting. Provides input to the Director of Education and Training, ASQ Learning Institute regarding the department budget.
3.Responsibility for establishing objectives, policies or standards. Assists with development of short and long-term education product strategy and administration of adjunct faculty.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works independently to meet and maintain program goals. Must submit work to Director of Education and Training, ASQ Learning Institute/Learning Offerings.
