University of Southern California's (USC) Marshall School of Business seeks an experienced, creative leader, and a hands-on administrator to be the Senior Director of the One-Year Accelerated, International MBA Program called International Business Education and Research (IBEAR) MBA. The Marshall School is investing heavily in the IBEAR MBA Program in order to transform it into one of the foremost one-year international MBA programs in the world. To that end, the Senior Director will be highly involved in developing and implementing programs and activities to transform the IBEAR MBA Program.

The USC Marshall IBEAR MBA is a one-year, accelerated MBA program for experienced managers with a global focus. Participants are 34 years old on average, with about 10 years of work experience. In a typical class of 56 students, 10-15 are from North America, while 40-45 participants are from Pacific Rim economies, mostly from South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, India, Southeast Asia, with a few from Latin America and Europe. The 1,600 IBEAR alumni are in leadership and ownership positions in top companies around the Pacific Rim.

Job Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Academic Director and Assistant Dean of IBEAR MBA program, the Senior Director is responsible for managing, planning and implementing all administrative issues related to the IBEAR MBA program. The Senior Director will lead the IBEAR MBA program faculty and staff to identify, attract, recruit, teach, retain, and graduate a class of 56 mid-career participants, who come mostly from Pacific Rim economies. The Senior Director will work closely with USC's federally funded Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) to implement IBEAR outreach and research activities.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse IBEAR MBA participants, as well as with USC Marshall senior leadership, faculty, staff, and senior IBEAR alumni. The Senior Director must have the ability to effectively communicate IBEAR's mission to prospective applicants, students, sponsor corporations, human resource directors, CEOs, and senior IBEAR alumni.

Leadership experience in an MBA program or in a corporation, especially in a Pacific Rim economy is desirable. The Senior Director must be able to engage in international travel for up to two weeks, 2-3 times a year, in addition to some domestic travel.

Candidates should have extensive knowledge and understanding of business around the Pacific Rim, both at the strategic and tactical levels. The ideal candidate will also have experience working or living abroad. Candidates with senior level leadership experience in a leading business school or in a leading university, as well as, candidates with senior level leadership experience in corporations, foundations, and international organizations are encouraged to apply.

Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 7 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related program management experience. Expert knowledge of field, teaching experience and/or active in research. Ability to manage sponsored projects and fundraise.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education: Ph.D. in business administration, a business functional area, or a discipline in social sciences is strongly preferred
Preferred Experience: 10 years
Preferred Field of Expertise: Extensive knowledge and understanding of business around the Pacific Rim, both at the strategic and tactical levels. Experience working or living abroad.

Senior level leadership responsibilities in a leading business school or in a leading university is preferred. However, senior level leadership experience in corporations, foundations, and international organizations will also be considered.
