The NY YMCA Camp is seeking a qualified individual who will be responsible for the implementation of quality resident summer. The Director will enhance existing programs and develop new program ideas, while maintaining a safe and positive environment, at all times, ensuring the health and safety needs of all campers and employees are met. Responsibilities: • Implement program sign-up and delivery of all programs provided to campers. • Develop all program schedules for each camp session. • Develop weekly staff schedule, assigning staff to programs based on their abilities, interests and certifications. • Visit program areas frequently, noting supply levels, participation and safe delivery of program. • Function as part of a team in the planning and delivery of pre-camp and in-service staff training. • Maintain all YMCA Camp, Health Department and ACA standards throughout the camp site and program. • Act as a role model and enforce camp policies at all times. • Maintain accurate program supply inventories and records as required by the assistant camp director. • Attend all designated meetings and trainings associated with the Camp Program. Qualifications: • College studies and/or work experience in program delivery. • Minimum of two years of experience working in a sleep-away camp setting; one year of supervisory experience. • Current CPR/ First Aid/ AED certifications. • Must be 21 years of age or older. • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
