This is a part-time position. The incumbents will work an average of 20 hours per week. Work schedule is to be determined. There are currently 2 vacancies but this number is subject to change. This recruitment is open until filled and can close at any time and without notice. Bilingual pay is an additional $0.73/hour (if applicable).
Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To:
Under general supervision, assists in the organization and implementation of the Youth Basketball Program. Assists in compiling program registration, practice/game calendars, officiates games, maintains statistical reports, requests all necessary equipment and supplies, and provides general program support. Participates cooperatively in work team activities. Answers telephones and provides customer assistance over the telephone or in person. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Experience supervising and motivating volunteers, participants and peers, and the ability to deal professionally with customers of all ages; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below.
Knowledge of : Strong sports background combined with recreational and educational programming techniques. Basic use of computers, including Microsoft Word and the Internet.
Ability to: be a positive role model; be creative and work with children and adults of all ages and backgrounds; understand and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Special Working Conditions: Must be willing and able to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays and evenings, on an occasional basis, as a condition of employment.
Note : Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Hmong, Korean, or Samoan is highly desirable.
Must have reliable transportation.
