MI-17 subject matter expertise Specific Job Description The selected candidate will join the Aviation Logistics Services and Sustainment Team. The portfolio of programs this position will support are aviation and logistics related in Iraq, Colombia, Jordan and Afghanistan. The weapons systems supported will be primarily MI-17 in Kabul Afghanistan and to a lesser degree C130’s and Unmanned Helicopter. The Program Manager will be responsible for the overall program leadership and direction, financial and contractual performance, administration and quality assurance. A strong understanding of program finance and business operations is essential as the PM will be responsible for achievement of mission critical milestones and contract performance on an ongoing basis. The candidate must be able to anticipate customer needs and formulate and propose solutions that are complex in nature. Responsibilities will include the development of and commitment to long range plans to achieve financial growth goals. Candidate must possess the ability to operate and manage effectively, geographically separated from both management and the supporting workforce and with minimal guidance. Other areas of responsibility include workforce planning, staffing projections, adherence to company and government policies and procedures, regulations and statues. This position will require the candidate to effectively communicate and coordinate with the Senior Military Leadership, USG customers and LM leadership to establish relationships to support program management business rhythms, business goals, capture initiatives and other new business activities as appropriate. Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as required and as the mission dictates. Direct responsibilities include managing subcontractors, maintenance teams, logisticians, buyers, supply chain management and procurement of spares and repairs between foreign countries and the United States. The selected candidate must have the ability to work within tight schedule constraints, have excellent organizational skills and must have demonstrated excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Standard Job Description Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
