The ERP technology leader will be responsible for leading, facilitating, and building the infrastructure in support of Thermal’s ERP and associated initiatives. This role is critical to the success of the multi-generational implementation approach for key pillar platforms in support of Thermal’s business process and process simplification programs.
In addition, you will:
Provide technical architecture (application, data, network, hardware / system software) leadership in the hardware / software selection, design, development, deployment, and production support of new and existing applications
Be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning and monitoring to ensure operational availability and performance
Provide day to day leadership for technical consulting resources
Coordinate technology platforms, troubleshooting, issue resolution, systems analysis, root cause analysis, testing, technical documentation, change management
Focus on architecture, planning, and operations of ERP and related Oracle technology (database, middleware, reporting)
Provide direction and leadership in technology strategy and development for the overall ERP roadmap
Maintain current knowledge of new system management practices and information technologies that are applicable to business objectives and creatively promote their use
Monitor key performance metrics to proactively address issues to deliver optimum platform performance and reliability
Provide technical expertise for platform upgrades and enhancements, including definition and execution of platform patching to keep products current
Provide inputs into the technology plan and ensure that plans for assigned platforms integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure
Coordinate platform activities for disaster recovery planning and testing
Advises management on application and supporting technology purchases and on future projects or environment upgrades / modifications
Maintain peer relationships across IT areas, including Corporate ISS and Power & Water ETS to drive effective implementations
Initiate and coordinate outsource supplier efforts as required
Proactively communicate technical direction, strategy, project details, status on issues, and key metrics to platform stakeholders
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline
Minimum 10 years of IT experience with a broad array of Infrastructure technologies, with minimum 3 years of ERP experience

Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
ITIL Certification (GE employees only)
Six Sigma / Lean Certification (GE employees only)
Strong track record of implementing emerging technologies on large projects and adapting best practices from across similar internal / external technical groups
Strong critical thinking and decision-making ability
Experience in architecting global, large-scale applications, which span multiple countries and business units
