Role and Scope of Position:

This position serves as the “point person” for retrofitting energy efficiency programs for large commercial and industrial customers, specifically for the City of Boston. This position is responsible for all aspects of implementation planning, delivery, customer service, vendor management and financial assessment and statistical analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees onsite inspections of commercial and industrial customer facilities in order to identify energy conservation opportunities.
  • Provides customers with technical advice and assistance regarding the design, procurement and installation of energy efficient equipment, as well as adoption of demand-reduction initiatives.
  • Develops RFP’s and selection of vendors to deliver and administer programs.
  • Oversees the design, implementation and management of new programs.
  • Tracks financial program and operational performance.
  • Markets energy efficiency programs to eligible customers.
  • Provides customers with analysis and support for demand side management projects and processes.

  • Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

    Technical Knowledge/Skill: Requires knowledge of commercial and industrial building systems and processes. Also requires knowledge of marketing principles and market research techniques. Requires financial skills and the ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel). Experience working with cities, towns, government strongly desired.

    Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred.

    Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years managing complex projects of a high volume commercial and industrial nature. Customer service experience and/or aptitude.
