The Program Manager, Merchandise Planning, works in full collaboration with all the functional areas of marketing to develop the best, customer-centric, go-to-market product strategy in support of the CDW customer contact plans. In addition, this role will optimize segment contact strategies through representation of product categories across integrated media. The Program Manager, Merchandise Planning develops and executes merchandising plans to ensure each customer contact yields the greatest return on investment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Define merchandise mix by vehicle consistent with quarterly product themes that will yield the maximum response from the contact strategies.
Leverage product marketing and business intelligence teams to maximize resources and ensure maximized performance.
Ensure proper cross sell and up sell visual merchandising in marketing communication.
Create appropriate product paginations to correspond to quarterly product themes.
Create appropriate product bundles, anchor affinity groupings, and message consistent with target audience for each vehicle.
Communication and Analytics
Develop and maintain product performance reports and metrics to measure effectiveness of merchandise plans.
Perform post mortem product performance analysis on each vehicle and communicate with marketing management what did and did not work.
Work with product, segment marketing and pricing teams to create effective on-page and book level product promotions including leasing, buy-one-get-one (BOGO) offers, hurdle discounts, and price reductions based on elasticity models.
Create product promotions calendar that is shared with marketing team for input and approval.
Effectively communicate overall and contact level merchandise strategies to internal customers.
Ensure internal customers are aware of the product positioning for each mega and meta segment within the CDW customer portfolio.
Exhibit initiative to look beyond the everyday business to look for opportunities to maximize sales potential.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions, anticipate problems, and provide creative solutions.
History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including senior leadership.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong project management skills.
Degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
Technology experience in a segment industry (e.g. Healthcare, Federal, etc.).
Basic understanding of test strategies and web analytics.
Previous eCommerce, retail, or catalog experience.
Visual display experience.
