Support EB growth by supporting new product development through review of product specifications, product evaluations and the internal and supplier approval process. Provide food safety direction during the development and design of products and concepts. Attend plant trials and/or first production of new products to provide plant guidance on food safety and quality. .

Maintain FSQA compliance across category. Maintain updated risk and classification of suppliers by using internal risk tiering tools. Maintain product specifications for Merchandising branded products to ensure consistent adherence to Food safety and quality expectations.

Act as point of contact in supplier, divisional and customer relations and communications through regular contact, visits, product verifications, investigations and addressing product complaints. Participate in corrective action efforts in instances of non-conformance with FSQA requirements, as well as supporting Merchandising's response to third party audits.

Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (category management, R&D, sales, etc.) to achieve overall FSQA and financial goals, as well as establishing and maintaining product quality standards as brand strategies change and evolve

Maintain close communication with direct manager and FSQA leadership on status of projects, obstacles, risks and crises within assigned categories, partnering with the department to drive FSQA initiatives and promote success

Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Food Science or other science-based curriculum;

Master's degree in Food Science preferred.

Related Experience:
A minimum of 5 years in FSQA, food Science or related field.

Knowledge of microbiology, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food allergens, product specifications management, quality systems, food safety systems, and HACCP. Food safety and Quality assurance experience required. GFSI and HACCP certification is preferred.

Proficient in written and verbal communication, with effective presentation skills, as well as the ability to effectively interact with internal/external stakeholders. Requires effective interpersonal skills, project management skills, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Must display a firm alignment and commitment to the USF foundational values, operating principles and focus

Ability to lift 30 pounds, sit and stand for long periods of time. Must possess valid driver's license and be willing to travel up to 30% of the time overnight.

Additional Information: Travel Percentage: 20%
