This position is open only to:

(1) Current Montgomery County Government employees;

(2) Montgomery County employees who were affected by reduction-in-force and currently have RIF priority rights;

(3) Active Montgomery County local fire and rescue department volunteers with at least 50 points under the length of service award program; or

(4) Active Customized Employment Public Interns, QUEST Interns, Project SEARCH Interns or former Customized Employment Public Interns, QUEST Interns, or Project SEARCH Interns within 24 months of completion of internship.

The employee will be responsible for supervising civilian staff; directing the operation of the Montgomery County Sex Offender Registry; applying for and managing state and federal grants and monitoring contracts. The Sex Offender Registry is responsible for tracking, monitoring and registering convicted sex offenders, as well as, addressing public safety through community outreach.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience : Thorough (5 years) experience in registering, tracking, monitoring and managing registered sex offenders in Maryland. Supervisory experience may be required, depending upon the position assignment.
Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
Equivalency : An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Preferred Criteria

Resume must include information specific to the preferred criteria listed below. Make sure that your resume references your knowledge, skills, and abilities as they relate to the preferred criteria. Ideally, the preferred criteria should be addressed in a separate section in your resume. 1. Experience registering, tracking and monitoring registered sex offenders.

2. Experience managing a Sex Offender Registry Database.

3. Experience directing and/or supervising employees.

4. Experience using computer software, to include Microsoft Office and Outlook Email to efficiently and effectively create correspondence; and

5. Experience writing and monitoring contracts and monitoring state and federal grants.

All applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be reviewed and rated by subject matter experts based on the Preferred Criteria. Based on the results of Preferred Criteria evaluation, applicants will be rated and placed on the Eligible List as either "Qualified" or "Well Qualified." The highest rated applicants will be placed on the Eligible List and may be considered for interview. Employees meeting minimum qualifications who are same grade or higher will be placed on Eligible List as a "Transfer" candidate and may be considered for interview. Note: In the event there are 5 or less minimally qualified candidates, all will be placed on the Eligible List as Qualified and will be interviewed.
