Full time permanent utilization management position providing clinical supervision with responsibility for oversight of best practices in service utilization for treatment standards at the Center so as to ensure that the delivery of services at the Center consistently meet utilization and regulatory standards. Provides on-going review of client admission, treatment, and discharge data which is reflected in the clinical documentation. Monitors the Center’s ability to compliance with regulations regarding proper medical necessity justifications being reflected in properly in the clinical documentation. Creates summary data reports and works with clinicians, nurses, and Center Senior Management in reviewing episodes of care, with a focus on level of care, type of care, length of treatment, aftercare, and discharge planning status for Center clients.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:
STATE : A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience. INTERNAL: A master’s degree, preferably in nursing, social work, or health administration or a closely related field. E xperience in mental health clinical supervision, program oversight, in-depth understanding of regulations, policies, and procedures as related to the evaluation of service utilization, treatment planning, and documentation of medical necessity. Strong understanding of effective mental health assessment and treatment, as well as in-depth knowledge of DMH, Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance program regulations and requirements. Ability to provide clinical leadership with responsibility for development, direction and supervision utilization review. Will requires extensive knowledge of principles and methods of professional staff supervision, policy and procedural implementation, as well as program development and management in a community mental health setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of effective mental health assessment and treatment, as well as in-depth knowledge of DMH, Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance program regulations and requirements. Ability to provide clinical leadership with responsibility for development, direction and supervision utilization review. Will requires extensive knowledge of principles and methods of professional staff supervision, policy and procedural implementation, as well as program development and management in a community mental health setting.

Position is located at CDMHC 2100 Charlie Hall Blvd, Charleston, SC.
