RESPONSIBILITIES: BAI, DoD contractor, seeks an experienced Program Manager. Successful candidate to serve as overall lead, manager and administrator for the contract effort and as primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities and representatives on technical and program/project issues.
Program Manager supervises contractor personnel, program/project operations by developing procedures, planning and directing execution of the technical, programming, maintenance and administrative support effort, and monitoring and reporting progress. Candidate manages acquisition and employment of program/project resources and controls financial and administrative aspects of the program/project with respect to contract requirements.
A project management professional certification is desirable.
Additionally, Program Manager may provide support to FMS leadership concerning new business development and security assistance policies/processes, as well as serve as liaison with government agencies on issues of interpretation, preparation, exception and waivers of those policies and procedures.
Must possess working knowledge of:
Major system acquisitions
T&E, or integrated logistics support
Risk management and/or program protection and program security planning
System acquisition practices required to design, develop, integrate, test, and manufacture a major system
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in the Defense acquisition process; three (3) years of the previous six (6) years in support of Navy Acquisition management; and a minimum of six (6) years supervisory experience.
Experience with aircraft systems, hardware and software, configuration control, test and evaluation, systems integration, and systems supportability is necessary.
Experience in initiating and maintaining technical direction within broad program objectives directly related to aircraft systems, hardware and software, configuration control, test and evaluation, systems integration, and systems supportability.
Also required are demonstrated written and oral communication skills; experience managing different phases of weapon system acquisition, including Concept Development, SD&D; familiarity with acquisition policies and procedures; and, demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the requirements of the DOD 5000 series.
A demonstrated ability to work with large and diverse teams; the ability to effectively provide guidance, direction, and supervision in areas of program management, systems engineering, major system acquisitions, and financial management to the technical staff are required.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
A Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be considered equivalent to 4 years professional experience in Defense acquisition.
CLEARANCE: Condition of employment - must be able to acquire a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
