DESCRIPTION

The Program Officer for the Office of Public Engagement is a new role that will lead the efforts to institutionalize a philosophy and a vision to ensure public engagement as a visible and important strategy for accomplishing the NBME's overarching goals and priorities.

DUTIES

The position will be the inward- and outward-facing advocate for the Public at the NBME. The incumbent will focus on the development of public engagement strategies and activities and provide leadership and advocacy for the implementation and management of the strategies. This effort will require working with leadership and experts within the NBME to effectively leverage existing resources, as well as, collaborating with external parties whose missions are aligned or complementary to that of the NBME. In addition to having the demonstrated ability to build and develop professional relationships the qualified candidate will have the demonstrated ability to collaborate and advance work forward.

QUALIFICATIONS

Our preferred candidate will have experience composing professional written documents and other correspondence, be detail oriented with excellent organization, communication and problem solving skills. A Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Public Relations or Health Policy is desired. Professional experience in health care or citizen advocacy organizations is preferred.The position is currently part time, up to 28 hours. Our qualified Candidate will be available for full time, 35 + hours, as the role develops. The position will be the inward- and outward-facing advocate for the Public at the NBME.
