Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include working independently, in partnership with Imperial county to develop specialized training, projects, and capacity for best practice on state and county initiatives for the Public Child Welfare Training Academy ("PCWTA"). This position works closely with regional training coordinator and training coordinator to develop and plan all county training needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience Six years of progressively responsible experience in technical or administrative assignments. Education Master's degree or equivalent in an appropriate field related to program/project.

Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop solutions Ability to work individually and with a team Ability to travel within California - primarily Southern region counties, and Sacramento Competence with standard office software packages for correspondence and report preparation Proven skill maintaining harmonious relations with colleagues, organizing project leaders, troubleshooting knowledge of program/project specific policies, Ability to independently interpret a wide variety of complex policies and procedures integral to the program/project to which the position is assigned, Ability to define, develop and implement procedures, Ability to carry out assignments without detailed instructions, Ability to plan, coordinate and initiate actions necessary to implement group decision, strong leadership, organizational development and administrative skills; Excellent interpersonal skills such as diplomacy, accurate listening/speaking skills; and the ability to work well with a wide variety of contacts Interact effectively with co-workers Understand and follow posted work rules and procedures Ability to relate well to others within the Academy for Professional Excellence environment Highly motivated self-starter, with a high energy level and strong interpersonal skills Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Well organized, ability to meet deadlines, detail oriented; possess good judgment and common sense Demonstrate a high level of cross-cultural sensitivity

Preferred Education/Certifications

Master's degree in Social Work.

Preferred Experience/Special Skills

Five years of experience planning and coordinating projects and deliverables At least five years of experience in child welfare including experience developing and delivering child welfare training Two years of experience as a trainer and/or curriculum developer At least 3 years experience in public child welfare setting.

Working Conditions

Ability to travel within California - primarily Southern region counties, and Sacramento. This position will serve Imperial County, California. and requires regular travel to Imperial County.
