REPORTS TO: Sr. Director, Analytics & InsightsLOCATION: Remote from home (or New York City office) Overview: Scarborough, the nation's premier source for local consumer insights, is seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Survey Processing Programmer within our custom research group. Overall responsibilities include: survey cleaning, weighting, data ascription and tabulation programming for customized client studies. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for data cleaning, weighting, and ascription (involving the application of pre-determined modeling variables into Scarboroughs proprietary database platform) for custom surveys within Scarboroughs Analytics & Insights group. Also responsible for tabulation programming and delivery based on tab specs. Leadership and coordination of work flow between project directors, other programming staff and data processing staff is an essential role for this position. Hands on applications development including tab package and other survey processing applications. Data integration and fusions using multiple large data sets. Analytic approach to solving data processing and client delivery issues for customized studies. Excellent communication, coordination and organization skills essential to success. Candidate must demonstrate mastery of all of these skills.Secondary Responsibilities: Various projects as assigned by manager.
Skills and Experience: 4 year degree in computer science or related field 3 - 5 years survey tabulations and/or data processing applications development experience. Experience with survey data processing - including application of data cleaning and weighting techniques is essential. Experience with data ascription and fusion techniques is a plus. Programming experience using any commonly used business language is preferred. Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills - must provide examples. Project leadership and coordination skills - must provide examples. Analytically oriented - must provide examples.
