Product Analyst with strong analytical skills, extensive computer programming experience and solid mathematical background to develop new application system and convert older insurance product specifications as well as code in production systems into workable calculation/programming documentation targeted for modern technology language solutions. Proficiency with Excel and Visual Basic macros, C#, .Net, C++/JAVA, Crystal Report, SQL, and APL work tools will be a large portion of job requirement. Basic familiarity of life insurance products and sales concepts would be very helpful. The knowledge should include familiarity or proficiency with each of the following product lines; Whole Life, Variable Universal Life, and Universal Life and understanding of multiple life products and sales concepts is a plus.
- Program on Metlife platforms using C#, .net, Visual C++, Crystal Report, Visual Basic or VB Script, FoxPro, SQL, APL
Analyze existing Admin system document and pricing benchmark tool to develop new Admin system with modern technology.
Analyze existing illustration specification, pricing benchmark test tool work spaces, and other available work-tools to create Calculation and Product Specifications that will support successful re-programming of in-force products from languages in DOS based operating systems to state of the art technology.
Development, deployment, and maintenance of In-force Illustration solutions for key MetLife constituencies.
Use knowledge of Life Insurance products to Test and Quality Assurance solutions built.
Become familiar with existing in-force illustration systems. Document functionality provided by each system and develop new graphic user interface.
Lead development of a data log and tracking tool for the Consolidated In-force Illustration Service Unit Managers through an understanding of their needs and designing solutions that maintain and enhance the capabilities of the current Log database.
Create ad hoc and periodic Management Reports as needed.
Maintain the current APL , Excel and VB Macros combination solutions and create new solutions.
- Bachelor's degree, Computer Engineering/Science major is a plus
More than 2 years of programming experience
Programming familiarity with some or all of the following; C#, .Net, Crystal Report, FoxPro, Visual C++, Visual Basic or VB Script, JAVA, SQL, APL and MS EXCEL.
Knowledgeable about life insurance product designs, concepts and features is plus.
Very strong mathematical background.
Analytical skills working with math formulas and programming code in a variety of languages.
Well developed writing and documenting skills.
Ability to contribute at a high level as an individual contributor as well as a team player
Flexibility/Adaptability to respond to shifting priorities, competing initiatives and environmental changes
