A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or
trade school. At least five years of similar or related experience. Specific identifiable
experience with SQL; Disaster Recovery (SQL 2005/2008 preferred); Unidata; Web; Datamarts
and warehousing; strong programming experiences. Certification in SQL database administration
or be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of SQL database, preferable 2005 and Management
Studio. Ability to program in Unidata, UniBasic and EnvisionBasic to create front-end screens,
processes, batch processes and reports. Ability to maintain web pages/sites including but not
limited to programming in JAVA, XML, XSLT, CSS AND HTML that connect to current administrative
system. Ability to use third-party reporting tools to create reports against SQL database
management systems. Ability to operate computer equipment and software including word processing,
spreadsheet and internal database or record keeping and communications purposes.
Scope of Job:
Design, develop, document, analyze, create, program, deploy, test or modify computer systems
or programs, including prototypes based on and related to user or system design specifications.
Design, develop, program, deploy and integrate web pager/sites with existing administrative
software. Assist IR with reporting issues. Assist end users with requests for training.
Administer software support. Work with other IT staff to resolve problems relating to hardware,
network and access issues as appropriate. Administer administrative system servers (database,
application and web servers), including backup and restore, hardware and software installation
and upgrades. Hours of work will vary including occasional evening and weekend hours.
Reports to the Director of IT, through the director to the Executive Vice President and
through the vice president to the College President. This is a 12-month position.

10 days per year accrues to 90 days total. Paid sick leave is available to exempt employees.
Earned at the rate of one day per month during years one through five of continuous employment, and 1.25 days per month thereafter. Paid vacation leave is available to exempt employees
Employee is covered by the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Employee contributes 4% or 6% of gross.
$15,000 group term life insurance provided by Board, plus 1.5 times annual salary group term life insurance provided by KPERS.
Board provides up to $400.00 per month ($4800.00 per year) for a use-it-or-lose-it health insurance benefit through GCCC-sponsored health insurance plan.
Internal Revenue Code Section 125 Cafeteria Salary Reduction Plan allows employee
to reduce compensation in amount necessary to purchase from nontaxable benefits contained in the
