DESCRIPTION

The Center for Suicide Risk Assessment seeks an experienced and motivated Project Administrator to coordinate several suicide risk assessment-related projects.

The Center is at the forefront of international efforts on suicide assessment, surveillance, risk communication and drug safety, working with the FDA, CDC, NIMH, VA, U.S. Army and other international agencies in numerous clinical, academic and governmental settings.

The Columbia methods developed by the Center [the Columbia Classification Algorithm for Suicide Assessment (C-CASA), which was commissioned by the FDA, and the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS)] have been mandated or requested by the FDA for use in all clinical trials, and are used globally for the measurement and classification of suicidal ideation and behavior.

C-SSRS has been utilized in NIMH- and foundation supported research trials, emergency rooms, hospitals, clinical practice, surveillance efforts, and programs for college campuses.

The Center publishes on the risks, benefits, and public health implications encompassed by recent drug safety controversies, and frequently receives requests from the media to produce informed research interpretations for a lay or specialized audience.

DUTIES

The Project Administrator will be responsible for handling requests for the C-SSRS scale and training materials; assisting the Principal Investigator with preparation for presentations and meetings and contributing to manuscripts and other scientific writing.

He/she will also assist in managing the Center's databases and website, and participate in administrative tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: At least one year related experience required. Thirty graduate hours in psychology or related filed can be substituted for the required experience. Research experience in suicide assessment-related area a plus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Access, is required. Attention to detail, and excellent communication and data analytic skills are essential.
