position with Dewberry Architects Inc., a nationally recognized architectural, engineering and planning firm that offers a full range of professional services from feasibility studies and conceptual planning through design and construction administration. We are searching for a dynamic hands-on Project Architect with the ability to manage projects from preliminary schematic design through construction completion. Must demonstrate excellent leadership skills with the aptitude to train, mentor and develop staff. The successful candidate will lead and manage teams and be profit and growth oriented.

Position is responsible for significant aspects of the project under the direction of the Project Manager. Selects, evaluates and implements procedures and techniques used on projects. Experience in technical detailing, project coordination and construction administration required. A prospective candidate should be capable of understanding and applying codes and regulations, monitor project budgets and successfully lead a team to produce quality documentation. May be responsible for some construction phase shop drawing review and assembly of requests for proposals, change orders and closeout documentation.

Required Skills & Required Experience:
Preferred Characteristics:
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to research codes, materials and construction assemblies and to incorporate them into project solutions.
Ability to schedule own work and organize work performed by other project staff.
Highly motivated with the ability to work independently.

Qualification Requirements:
Proficiency in REVIT.
Expert Knowledge of BIM Modeling.
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture.
Preferably LEED AP and knowledge of sustainable design principles.
Licensed Architect in CA.
Minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in building types currently undertaken by Dewberry Architects.
