Coordinate, manage, provide input to and be responsible for all project and strategic sourcing activity for the Automotive Hub Americas. From inquiry to PPAP to release stage in conjunction with Global Purchasing (GP) and American Purchasing (AP).
  • Obtain quotes
  • Issue purchase orders
  • Expedite orders
  • Monitor on-going vendor quality, price, and delivery performance
  • Status updates to Automotive Hub Americas Project Managers on progress of assigned purchasing projects
    • Assist Sales to identify best sources of supply from approved supply base for new business opportunities
    • Communication of early warning notifications between Suppliers, Marketing & Logistics
    • Provide Americas market requirement input to support development of global supplier strategies
    • Interact with other SCM departments locally and Globally
    • Provide Purchasing Manager AP consolidated monthly reports
    • Travel approximately 1-2 days per week
    • Other duties may be assigned as required
    Candidate profile
    • B.S. degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
    • 2-4 years experience in a purchasing function in an automotive or logistics environment
    • Experience working with ERP systems and JD Edwards preferred
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • NAPM or other certifications a plus
    • Experience in Engineering Business, preferably seals
    • In-depth knowledge of Automotive Quality Requirements (APQP, PPAP, SPC, etc)
    • Proven Project Management skills
    • P/C based programs including Microsoft Office products
