We are seeking Project Communication Officers to provide services in support of the build and implementation of a comprehensive, distributed Information Technology solution. The goal of this project is to replace a 25 year old mainframe system with a new Software as a Service (SaaS) system. This solution is being developed for a 4 party consortium. This position will work on behalf of the consortium Project Management Office (PMO). The Communication Officer will work as part of a team that includes a Project Manager, Project Administrator, Project Risk Management Officer, and a Project Quality Officer.
Bachelor's degree (or higher)
Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience performing Project Communication or Project Management functions on large, distributed Information Technology projects
General business acumen
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to convey realistic project goals, assess project status, ascertain risk and issue information, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders in terms they understand
Proficient in common communication tools, using accepted and effective communication protocols
Firm understanding of project management guidelines as presented in the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK)
Ability to assemble, analyze and evaluate data and to be able to prepare appropriate, well-reasoned and evidence-based communications that support project management activities and stakeholder decision making
Qualified candidates will need to provide project and technical references (3 each) that are able to validate cited skills and experience and be able to submit sample work product(s). Significant travel may be required. Experience with multi-vendor application development projects, including Software as a Service (SaaS) system solutions, is preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Attend Executive Committee, Steering Committee, and Project Management Office (PMO) meetings
Maintain project repository and distribute documents and artifacts as needed
Prepare articulate and effective project communications that help further project progress, minimize project risk and address issues in a timely manner
Advise PMO members of any communication concerns and/or gaps that need to be addressed or may impact project success
Ensure that all project communications are captured in a manner that enables validation and future reference in a standard and consistent manner
Work collaboratively with the Project Manager to deliver comprehensive project management services.
