We have an immediate opportunity for a project consultant, media relations to join our dynamic New York-based team.
Manage day-to-day client project work and produce quality client deliverables
Work on integrated, global teams in a variety of service areas, including media relations, corporate communication, issues management, branding & positioning, corporate responsibility, stakeholder engagement and internal communication
Implement media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast media and online
Leverage existing media relationships with key business reporters and cultivate new contacts within business and trade media; manage media inquiries and interview requests; write and distribute press releases and media advisories; and conduct pitch calls
Coordinate public relations activities
Execute communication campaigns, playing a key role in client account planning and strategy
Play an active role in brainstorm meetings, challenging convention by creating and innovating and presenting new campaign ideas
Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
1-2 years of relevant experience, including prior public relations agency and/or proven media relations experience
Experience working within technology sector a plus
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in communication, journalism, public relations or related field
Experience working on large scope projects that require coordination across internal and external teams under tight deadlines
Exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to write both strategically and creatively
Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Collaborative team player that also has the ability to work independently and be a self-starter, take initiative and set priorities
