AECOM is looking to recruit multiple Project Coordinators for an anticipated transmission and distribution project in the greater Edmonton, Alberta, Canada area. Relocation assistance and uplift are available.
This position reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in all areas of Project Management and may also fill in for the Project Manager as required.

Responsibilities to include:
Assist the Project Manager where applicable, in the day to day duties of project administration including initiation, planning, execution, and project close-out.

Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with Owner policy and project management methodology, including transmitting and tracking of submittals, compose agreements, and distribution of documentation to key stakeholders.

Assist project managers in the preparation and maintenance of the project schedules, project charters, project management plans, Oracle Financial inputs and PMO reporting documentation requirements.

Ensure the flow of information to the project management team occurs in a timely manner to meet execution timelines that will achieve schedules and project deliverables.

Coordinate reports and assume the lead role on the development, implementation and performance measure reporting for the safety work management system.

Prepare monthly reports that reflect project management activities and ad-hoc reports as requested.

Assist Project Managers in monitoring field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes.

Liaise with general contractors and consultants to expedite documentation requirements and related information, Assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, recordable, and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction.

Research recommended solutions to design issues; document problems.

Conduct quality control activities.

Prepare drawings and sketches (or coordinate the preparation of) to support construction work as required.

Attend project coordination and stakeholder meetings as requested; prepare and distribute minutes.

Coordinate the preparation, submission and tracking of procurement and contract documentation.

Assist and complete change requests and change order documentation.

Coordinate submittals and procure all close-out documents including operation and maintenance manuals as appropriate to the project.

Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents.

Qualifications to include:
Post secondary degree in a related discipline (will accept experienced engineers with professional designation into a senior coordinator role) or a technical diploma in construction or related industry.

4 years experience in a similar role in either construction or consulting engineering.

Required to work towards and obtain Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).

Demonstrate an understanding of construction methods and processes (equipment, techniques, drawings and specification, building materials, and required standards) gained either through education or field experience in a related industry.

Understanding of the following processes and how they relate to a project: contractor management, change orders, requests for proposals and project close outs.

Computer background including experience with MS Word, Excel, SharePoint and scheduling software.

A basic understanding of CADD is an asset.

Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others.

Effective English oral and written communication skills and the ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner.

Excellent organizational skills.
