The Project Coordinator role works with the CAN Strategic Marketing and Technology team to coordinate Development of New Products Services and Solutions (DNPSS) projects that have significant business impact to the CAN Growth Strategy. The Project Coordinator has the ability to work with multiple global species teams, and the ability to administer and communicate all the requirements of the innovation dashboard. The Project Coordinator will be accountable for the coordination of the stage gate process (PDP) for all DNPSS Projects, and is responsible for the organization, communication, and completion of all Gate Reviews needed for the DNPSS Process. The Project Coordinator will maintain current status and reporting of the entire DNPSS Portfolio, including stage gate status, projected spending, and projected completion dates.

Principle Accountabilities:
40% - Project Coordination:
Responsible for managing the processes associated with Project Coordination, including communication, organization, and holding others accountable. The position will also be responsible for facilitating Species and SMT Portfolio Review Team Meetings. (Project Timeline performance).

15% - Process Development:
Organize and lead the SMT in the integration of portfolio management. Responsible to work with the SMT leaders to help develop and document any new processes necessary to enact the innovation growth strategy. The position will also be responsible for on-going development of new processes associated with the SMT Team within CAN and DNPSS requirements of Cargill.

15% - Process Education:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for educating our global SMT teams of the requirements of completing project charters including financial data for DNPSS projects. The position will also be responsible for on-going education and deployment of new processes associated with the innovation dashboard.

15% - Portfolio Management:
  • Manage all projects in PWA system
  • Prepare monthly portfolio status reporting
  • Measure performance of projects after completion
15% - Portfolio Analysis

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the facilitation of information to allow performance analysis on all DNPSS projects. Based on this, the project coordinator will perform financial analysis on previous innovation projects in order to assess effective deployment of innovation.

This position will require 10% or more travel required including International


Required Skills:
BA/BS Degree or 6 years of equivalent work experience

2 + years business experience in a customer driven organization

Detail oriented, decisive, and able to see the big picture and narrow focus as needed

Must have the ability to understand the overall business and how execution of key processes occurs translates to our businesses in the regions around the world.

Demonstrated ability to engage and partner with individuals at all levels of the organization

Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team of individuals through excellent people management skills in the areas of coaching, feedback and development

Willingness to take risks and drive change

Preferred Skills:
Some finance/accounting experience

Previous program/project coordination experience

Knowledge and understanding of Cargill's PPM & PDP process

Strong external program/project manager network for knowledge sharing, best practices and benchmarking
