Administer, monitor and support the implementation/ supervision of Site Safety Manager (SSM) programs in compliance with corporate SSM policies and procedures. Train, instruct, provide educational materials and support project staff on applicable EH&S rules and regulations and Incident & Injury Free (IIF) on specific project(s).

Promote, practice, and implement all aspects of Incident & Injury Free.
Identify, evaluate, and recommend control of hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities and provide recommendations to abate same through project management and supervisory personnel.
Assist project team in supervision, coordination and implementation of site safety program, and risk assessments, preparation and updating of site-specific safety manual, including project emergency action procedures, work assignments and pre-task planning, personnel administration, staffing and training for emergency contingency plans.
Develop and conduct site-specific orientation training program. Implement program for all onsite staff and subcontractors.
Submit all company required SSM project reports in an accurate, complete and timely manner.
Full knowledge and understanding of all local, state, and federal OSHA requirements as well as all Lend Lease requirements including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Global Minimum Requirements (GMRs) and Falls Mandate.
Conduct and document project SSM weekly inspections with site Management per company policy.
Take appropriate action to assure unsafe conditions are closed in a timely manner.
Assist on internal and external project audits, inspections and senior management site tours.
Document and investigate all incidents involving property damage, personal injury, safety violations, near misses, unsafe conditions and non-compliance activities.
Partner with project team on incident analysis including root cause and lessons learned.
Accompany OSHA compliance officers and insurance inspectors during on site audits and assist in preparation of written response or appeals for citations, as required.
Assist in training staff employees to conduct jobsite orientations and other training, as needed.
Evaluate subcontractor qualifications, training program, and competency, and make recommendations to project management and supervisory staff.
Support Office EH&S Manager and Project Executive and define reporting structure.
Assist in developing and managing the project SSM budget.
Evaluate project SSM performance and provide guidance on trends, corrective actions, and loss rates.
Develop, implement and monitor the project safety incentive program and participates routinely in recognition and reward of project workers.
Review, evaluate and continually make recommendations to subcontractor site safety plans.
Complete required training courses, annually.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Minimum Requirements Four-year safety degree or equivalent combinations of training and minimum five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in direct supervision of SSM issues along with administration of programs such as Safety Training, Risk Analysis, Incident Investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and OSHA related issues, including but not limited to inspections.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of construction safety and be the resource for project staff.
Ability to interpret and provide recommendations on implementation and compliance with federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.
Capable of identifying and evaluating hazardous EH&S situations and recommending corrective measures.
Completion of OSHA 500. Certificates must be current within four-year time period.
Complete the License to Practice certification. (In house requirement)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to utilize computer software e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Able to climb ladders, multiple sets of stairs.
Hard hats, ANSI approved safety glasses and hi-visibility vests at all times.
May require working from scaffolds and at heights.
Possess valid Drivers License.
Must be willing to speak in front of large crowd.
Must be willing to attend training classes.
SSM License required. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Safety Health Technologist (OSHT) a plus.
