Description

The Project Engineer will be based in Lititz, PA with Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, North America. Purpose of Position:

  • Will perform limited assignments of specific engineering tasks, e.g., a minor phase of a larger project, testing new products. Emphasis on documentation, monitoring, and testing. This position is for an entry level professional with limited experience.
  • Representative activities are as follows but not limited to: performing a variety of routine tasks that are planned to provide experience and familiarization with the engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs of the company. Using readily available clear and direct references, provides straightforward solutions to problems. Collects and evaluates data and develops plans for assignments that may involve design application. Close review of new design or applications is provided.
  • Responsible for engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. Designs and scales up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. Plans, designs and estimates time and cost, and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components for small to mid-size projects. Analyzes and develops solutions to technical problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures by applying the theories and principles of science and mathematics. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.
  • Performs basis engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned. Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems. Assists in preparing reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries designed to communicate project progress or results.
Accountabilities:
Research and development of equipment and system options for manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, and tests manufactured products tomaintain quality.

Develop plans, designs, and time estimate schedules, budget costs and return on investment analysis.

Detailed design engineering and bid package development.

Project time and cost management scheduling - oversees cost structure and time line for construction, equipment, maintenance for small to mid-size projects related to facilities, systems and components.

Manage all phases of a small to mid-size project (front end loading, installation and construction, commissioning and start-up support to operations)

Assist Engineering Lead with Engineering Standard and Work Standards of Engineering Department

Qualifications

Required:
·

B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent project experience

·

Good planning and organizational skills, with ability to lead/manage multiple projects

·

Demonstrated organizational skills

·

Good problem solving and decision making skills

·

Reasonable proficiency in AutoCAD

·

Self-starter with strong leadership skills

·

Effective time and project management skills

·

Ability to work with cross functional teams to coordinate design, testing and parts procurement

·

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

·

Minimum of 1-2 years Project experience

Desired:
Effective troubleshooting skills

Interact with customers and vendors through the phases of design and manufacturing process

Knowledge of OSHA Regulations and Construction Management

Experience with Plant automation

Knowledge of Food Safety

Experience of Food Safety

Experience with 3D CAD

General food manufacturing background

Basic knowledge of chocolate confectionary production equipment
