Cargill Dressings, Sauces & Oils refines vegetable and tropical oils and animal fat for a wide range of food and nonfood manufacturers. We also make shortenings, frying oils, mayonnaise, dressings, and sauces for the foodservice industry.
The business operates seven oil refineries, five shortening and oil packaging plants, a mayonnaise production facility, a dressings plant and a culinary sauce facility, all of which are located in the United States. We also operate an edible oil refinery in Mexico.
Customers include major food manufacturers and quick-service and casual-dining restaurant chains. Dressings Sauces & Oils is integrated with Cargill's soybean crushing activities, which provide a reliable source of crude soybean oil for further processing.
Project Engineer will work at the facility on projects and practices related to base and non base investments - cost reduction, yield optimization, customer solutions, reliability improvements. The Engineer will identify and develop (together with the COE and the local team) various projects consistent with capital deployment and business strategy, but also develop and implement best practices. The duties of the Engineer are driven by making a noticeable impact in these areas in the mid/long term.
The engineer will also work on the development of Blue Prints and support projects in other locations, if significant advantages can be obtained by such peering.
50%- Implement base and non base capital projects related to Food Service plant operations - project justification/development from explore/feasibility through startup. Includes direct supervision of engineering and construction contractors
30%- Engineering support for continuous improvement and COE initiatives
10%- Develop and maintain structured project approach that is consistent with Cargill Food Safety, EHS, COE and Maintenance and Reliability standards
5%- Manage plant CIP reports - project budget adherence, timely project closure, communication of progress to users and project sponsors
5%- Development of standard operating procedures
Bachelor's of Science in Chemical, Mechanical or other engineering discipline that has a strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mass/material balance and process design.
3 years of process engineering or project management experience
Communication Skills: Good listener, able to present complicated matter in a clear way both written and verbally, engaging in discussions, basic negotiation skills
Interpersonal skills: team player, respectful, reach out for assistance and offer assistance
Technical skills: good understanding of project management
2 years experience in a food production environment
Basic financial knowledge (base, non-base)
Good understanding of continuous improvement, maintenance and reliability, PI, basic understanding of ACAD, MS Project
Sanitary design experience
High speed packaging line experience
