MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER
HVAC and Hydronic Heating and Cooling Systems
For experienced engineers with a passion for the field of mechanical engineering and an interest in providing leadership to an integrated team of architects, engineers and project managers for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. Build on your current knowledge of mechanical engineering by engaging in projects with clients throughout North America. This key role will develop a broad set of engineering competencies, technical design knowledge, consultation and problem solving skills.
Reports to the Sr. VP of Engineering and directly interacts with clients. Contributes to all aspects of project development, including conceptualization, contract document preparation, budget development and monitoring, specification writing and shop drawing review and team coordination. Leads project engineers in design of critical process air handling systems, ductwork design and installation detailing and hydronic heating & cooling systems, including steam and hot water boilers, chillers and cooling towers. This position will proactively work with multi-discipline design teams and mentor junior engineers.
BSME, BSMET or related degree; PE required.
15+ years design experience with comfort and process cooling and heating using air, water, and steam systems.
Design experience with mechanical utilities and plumbing systems.
Boiler and chiller central plant design experience.
Strong understanding of HVAC controls systems.
