The Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to various functional areas in order to develop and deliver value-added solutions for commercial construction applications. This will be accomplished by developing a thorough understanding of codes and regulations, testing methods, and end user applications.
Provide technical support to design engineers, marketing, sales, and customers relating to structural applications and requirements for various mechanical and chemical fasteners/anchors used in concrete, masonry and steel construction. Support may be in the way of verbal communication in person or over the phone, written reports and job-site visits.
Plan, schedule, and oversee internal testing and validation of existing and development products in a way that meets building codes and other structural requirements. Once testing is complete, analyze and report the results to other stakeholders. – Benchmarking and development,
Coordinate code approval product testing, using ICC-ES criteria and other testing standards, for various Commercial Construction products. Ensure that all such testing is performed successfully and in a cost effective and timely manner in order to obtain evaluation reports.
Become a member and active participant on work relating to commercial construction in order to understand existing code requirements and to provide direction to the organization on upcoming code changes. Code organizations may include ACI, ICC-ES, PATMI, and UL.
BS in Structural Engineering with 0-5 years of experience
Experience with construction building codes. Preferably with concrete applications.
Candidate must demonstrate project management and organizational skills.
Candidate must demonstrate experience in internal and external collaboration.
