Moog Aircraft Group is seeking Senior Project Engineer to be the primary motivator and contributor in the initial analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex flight controls used on commercial aircraft. The products of Moog generally are unique for each customer, thereby providing constant challenge to provide the best designs possible for each application.
Here’s what you’ll be working on day to day: Planning and conducting Moog’s effort in the evaluation, selection, and adaption phases of new and existing projects. Independently devise new approaches for the problems encountered. Plan and coordinate the work of team members to accomplish design timelines which you will be involved in setting. Operate either independently or as part of an interdepartmental design/development team. Ensure system or component performance and integration, achieving this result within budget and prescribed schedules. Coordinate the work of drafters, technicians, designers, analysis, manufacturing engineers, and others who assist in specific assignments. This is a contributing engineer position! You will both lead others and contribute technical expertise and generate a share of the analysis, technical documents, and other project deliverables that are required.
Here’s the skills we need you to bring with you:
Technical Expert – BS in Mechanical Engineering, Masters preferred. You must have a depth of understanding and experience in the design, analysis, and development of complex mechanical, hydromechanical, or electromechanical systems. This expertise typically cannot be gained in less than 10 years of on-the-job experience.
Outstanding communicator – You will be communicating to all levels of the organization with regards to your design ideas, your team’s progress, and other concerns. You must be comfortable and well versed in all forms of communication. Facilitator extraordinaire – you will lead anywhere from 2-10 engineers and staff without having direct hiring/firing authority. You must be able to motivate your team to perform to the best of their abilities at all times .
