The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) - New Plants Engineering (NPE) interfaces with multiple engineering disciplines, business project management, and Customers. The PEM will serve as a single point of contact between NPE, Nuclear Plant Projects (NPP), partners and the customer for ESBWR projects. You will be accountable for meeting functional, business, and broad company objectives. You will be challenged with complex project issues in a dynamic engineering and project environment.
In addition, you will:
Coordinate and provide technical and delivery leadership for ESBWR projects
Define critical technical project issues and ensure their timely resolution
Identify technical risks and develop risk mitigation plans
Ensure engineering activities are performed in compliance with customer, internal and regulatory requirements / procedures, properly documented, and electronically archived
Ensure on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines
Provide guidance for use of specifications as required by other GEH technical disciplines and project design partners
Interface with internal and external customers and the NRC or other applicable country specific regulatory agency, as required on technical issues
Support commercial and marketing opportunities for New Plants Engineering
Support Company initiatives: Six Sigma, process improvement and digitization
Support GEH Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and responding to Corrective Actions
Assist with the establishment and implementation of project manpower needs and helps coordinate project work tasks among disciplines
Coordinate development of work-hour estimates and transfers information to Project Controls for preparation of engineering cost estimate
Work with NPE functional teams' assigned Technical Project Engineers (TPEs) to accomplish work-hour estimates, scheduling, change orders and coordination of project work tasks
Ensure all necessary requirements, including regulatory and customer requirements, procedures and standards are incorporated into project schedule
Cooperate / interface with support, partners, customer and other functional teams participating in the project
Schedule and coordinate meetings between NPE, partners, the customer and other outside groups
Keep NPP Project Manager and NPE Manager advised of project progress, performance and manpower utilization with particular attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions
Coordinate the customer's engineering comments, approvals and requests with the functional activities of all disciplines
Request employment of expert consultants when deemed necessary for the project
Encourage and assist in the technical and managerial development of engineers
Work with Chief Consulting Engineers to coordinate Engineering Design Reviews as required for successful completion of the project
Review engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with design process, procedures and completeness of engineering tasks
Promptly review Design Change notices, identify change order candidates, segregate cost collection and assist the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Minimum of 4 additional years of experience in an engineering position
Minimum of 5 years of large power plant design and/or operation experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a team leader
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with customers, regulators and suppliers
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of nuclear power plant design and/or operation experience
Working knowledge of BWR systems
Experience in the construction of a nuclear power plant
Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE Employees only)
Masters of Science Engineering degree or higher
Minimum of 5 additional years of experience leading multi-disciplined engineering teams
Nuclear Industry experience
BWR / PWR operations and/or design experience
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Primavera project scheduling tool expertise
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and create cohesive groups
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to guide and influence others
Strong process orientation in approach to work
