DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for providing safety support/advice at project sites in order to guarantee compliance with federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental, regulations in addition to company HSE policies and procedures. * Take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm, and for developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement;* Support implementing HSE Mandates in coordination with management.* Assist in providing the necessary HSE services relative to the working location.* Support staffing needs; and developing HSE staff for growth opportunities; * Implement HSE policies and procedures; * Support developing, implementing, and revising a site-specific HSE plan (e.g. SEP)* Monitor compliance to HSE standards; include monitoring client HSE requirements; conduct scheduled field visits and inspections; recommend and follow through on corrective actions.* Audit the site HSE management system to determine compliance levels; participate in CSE's and other site-related audits.* Support site-specific HSE training requirements;* Analyze statistical data, inspection reports and compliance survey results; track and trend results; make recommendations and recognize achievements;* Assist in the investigation of incidents for root cause identification and preventive action; * Monitor the procurement needs and the training requirements for personal protective equipment; * Support new hire orientation process; * Support managing control of health and environmental hazards and exposures;* Manage the first aid, and medical emergency service's needs.* Monitor the HSE recognition program.* Network with other HSE professionals and share best practices/lessons learned.* Pursue continuing education opportunities and career development;* Engage in Realizing Zero - Zero Harm Culture initiatives.* Actively participate in HEART and PTSA auditing.* Foster Wheeler HSE Management System implementation; Project start-up and readiness review support; Planning development including SEP's; Risk assessments and hazard control measures; Training and education; Auditing and inspecting; Monitoring quality of HSE program and process tools implementation; PRS and the incident reporting, investigation and recordkeeping process; Recognition and rewards program support; First aid and medical emergency services; PPE procurement; Subcontractor management; Site security (where applicable);

QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years' experience; HSE or relevant experience required; advanced medical and/or HSE certification preferred.Degree- associates or bachelor degree in safety or other relevant field of study preferred; or 2 years technical training required in lieu of degree; or equivalent work experience requiredDeveloping management capabilities; Organizing, planning and executing skills; Interpersonal communication skills; Presenting and training skills; Inspection and audit capabilities; Developing technical expertise in HSE; Report writing capabilities; Statistical and analytical skills; Relationship-building competencies with multiple employee levels; Computer based systems and software; Foster Wheeler HSE policies, procedures and management system; Planning tools and processes; Training programs; HSE performance measures (including leading and trailing indicators); Auditing process and protocol; HSE legislation and regulations; Industry standards and work practices; Reporting and investigating incidents; Contractual HSE requirements; Subcontractor management; Project execution of field/office operations and program implementation; Industry HSE associations, affiliations and other resources;
