Summary of Responsibilities:
The Project Lead - Testing ensures quality control of application and infrastructure changes. The group is responsible for testing to ensure delivered code or infrastructure changes meet quality standards and end-user requirements. They are responsible for the compliance of the testing component of the end-to-end system development life cycle (SDLC) process. Manages less complex project testing efforts which may include multiple applications.
Independently manages project testing efforts of lesser complexity.
Responsible for estimating, planning, managing and status reporting on the testing portion of the software development project.
Accountable for project management and directing the work efforts of the other testing roles to accomplish the other testing portions of the software development project.
Validates the work of other testing roles to ensure:
Properly designed test cases and application of appropriate and efficient test analysis, design, and coverage.
Thorough execution of test cases, recording of test results, tracking and resolution of defects and test coverage analysis.
Reviews of input work products from other groups required for testing,
Reviews of output work products from testing to gain approval from relevant stakeholders.
Defect trend analysis and root cause analysis.
SOX compliance and execution where applicable.
Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to enhance the effectiveness of quality assurance testing strategies.
Implements test processes and test process improvements to current procedures.
Assigns, supervises and coordinates activities, including knowledge transition, project schedules and costs.
First point of escalation for testing issues.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Leads and motivates project team members that are not direct reports that may span multiple functions/LOBs and provides guidance to lower level staff.
Provides input to management on staff performance.
Reviews work products from vendor consultants
5+ years of systems development, testing and/or business experience or related work experience.
MS Office; intermediate to advanced skills with Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred, or 7+ years of equivalent work experience.
Project Management experience and/or training.
Understand technical solutions and implications.
Excellent understanding of system design processes, methodologies, and testing tools.
Strong knowledge of software development life cycle, infrastructure, products and services and IT portfolio and program management.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Strong business application and organizational knowledge desired
Travel: 10 – 15%
