Position Purpose:
To provide leadership in systems selection, analysis, design, development, deployment, and maintenance associated with departmental and/or institutional information systems. Acts as key technical advisor in cross-functional leadership teams representing the technical IT discipline.

Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Advanced knowledge of software development, data design, and systems analysis techniques as well as detailed knowledge of administrative functions of the user departments served. Knowledge of the programming languages, operating systems and development tools which comprise current administrative information systems in use at Dartmouth. Ability to delegate to and supervise IT professionals. Familiarity with commercial business software. Analytical skills. Interpersonal skills. Leadership skills. Planning and organizational skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.

Minimum Experience:
Six years of experience in project management, supervision, and systems analysis. Experience in the design, development, and implementation of institutional management information systems. Applications development experience in a multi-tier and cross platform systems environment. Experience installing and maintaining vendor-provided software. Experience managing a large system implementation and conversion process in a collaborative way with the user community.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
