The Site Safety Manager (SSM) will be charged with conducting site visits with the goal of assessing and mitigating hazardous work conditions and ensures site workers are trained and equipped to mitigate. The SSM may be called upon to evaluate current or write new programs to enhance safety as well as investigate any accidents and near misses to determine root cause. The Site Safety Manager will provide construction site and personnel inspections, audits and investigations to ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety, health and environmental regulations, industrial standards, and company policies. Some examples include, but not limited to, fall protection equipment and programs, rigging and lifting, scaffold assembly and use, PPE and use, equipment operator’s certifications, high altitude health effects, confined space evaluation, lockout tagout use, welding safety, fire prevention and take action when necessary in accordance with job site procedures.


Perform reviews, collection and review of contractor Job Hazard Analysis, weekly toolbox training, safety meeting minutes and contractor safety representative audits. Assist and perform with job site injury investigations, post-incident paperwork, and reporting paperwork, and participate in post-incident reviews and follow-up activities. Assists the Project Manager to develop and manage health and safety policies, standards, procedures and practices. Observe and evaluate contractor safety compliance and ensure all contracted personnel are properly trained in site safety requirements and procedures. Reviews safety policies, procedures, and safety performance. Conduct accident and near-miss investigations Conducts comprehensive safety audits and inspections and recommends actions for the correction of hazardous situations for compliance with OSHA regulations Familiarity with applicable OSHA, state and federal regulations covering all aspects of safety and health in the construction industry is necessary. Current First Aid/CPR certifications are also required. 3-5 years working on a construction safety program; Certified Safety Professional designation a PLUS; Prefer college degree and/or engineering background; 3-5 years of experience in the field with responsibility for directing field personnel on resolution of safety issues. Health and safety management on communication infrastructure projects desirable. Experience with MS Project, Excel, Word are required. US Citizenship. Clearable to Secret

Desired: Prior military or Army customer experience; Knowledge or experience in US Army networks and ISP/OSP Infrastructure.
