The Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of the project with accountability for project and customer relationship management, employee and team management, and execution of SDLC. The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of ARGO’s business solutions to customers and providing strategic leadership to customers and to ARGO’s business initiatives. Responsibilities also include short-term and long-term planning, executing project plans, detecting and assessing risk, ensuring high level of quality, controlling and monitoring project schedules, budget review, getting results from teams, and expert knowledge of software implementation.

Project Management:
•Creates engagement specific statements of work.
•Executes project work plans, and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
•Produces and maintains staff resource forecasts.
•Reports budget and explains variances.
•Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
•Reviews deliverables prepared by team before delivery to customer.
•Monitors project scope to ensure adherence with baselines and through change control management procedures.
•Enforces quality assurance procedures.
•Evaluates and reports ARGO risk associated with the engagement.
•Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
•Monitors and reports budget forecast variances and identifies the cause.
•Produces and distributes weekly status report to customer and ARGO management.
Customer Relationship Management:
•Serves as a central point of communication and coordination for all day-to-day ARGO interaction during the life of the engagement.
•Sets and manages customer expectations through defined objectives, effective communication, and delivery of results.
•Manages and communicates change properly with consideration given to the triple constraints, project and customer objectives, and affect on business value.
•Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships.
•Documents and maintains a project summary of each customer's business, organization and objectives.
•Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Employee / Team Management:
•Enables conditions for empowered teams through setting team objectives, defining authority and clear responsibilities, collaboration maps, and results measurement.
•Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
•Uses team conflict and debate in a positive and constructive manner but promptly and properly manages team conflict and communication problems.
•Keeps project team well informed of changes and developments within the organization and general corporate news.
•Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
•Consistently acknowledges, recognizes, and appreciates each team member's contributions.
•Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
•Contributes to the development of individuals by ensuring, when possible, that project tasks are in line with each team member’s career interests.
•Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
•Seeks and participates in development opportunities beyond training required by ARGO.
•Actively contributes to the hiring, and on boarding of new employees.
•Possesses keen understanding of the system development life cycle as it relates to software development, including the key phases, deliverables, and work streams.
•Possesses keen understanding of applications of information technology in business environments.
•Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
•Understands the deployment architecture, redundancy, performance factors, and availability as it relates to the business solution.
•Maintains an opportunistic point of view regarding possibilities to enhance ARGO’s value through processes, business solutions, documentation, and knowledge repositories.
•Responsible for improvement of internal implementation processes.
•Contributes project artifacts to the template and knowledge library with appropriate context to ensure internal re-usability by those not intimately familiar with the specific customer engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration or other relevant competency.
•At least 5 years of experience managing customer software delivery projects.
•Thorough understanding of the software development process, including key roles, phases, inputs, outputs, and development approaches
•Experience in directly managing project staff resources.
•Experience in resource and duration estimating methods.
•Ability to communicate with team members, customers, partners, and project stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
•Software development project management experience in financial services industry.
•Professional project management certifications.
•Project Managers should expect approximately 25 percent travel.
