Reporting to the Project Director of the Program Management Office the Project Manager provides full life-cycle project management of a portfolio of projects principally focused on the Service Now application. Works under moderate direction.

  • Assists in establishing project goals and scope based on specific business requirements and managing the development of these projects.
  • Ensures the project is delivered within prescribed budget.
  • Gives occasional project oversight / guidance to other Project Managers and/or assigned cross-functional managers.
  • Provides guidance to the Senior Business Analyst in their development of business requirements documentation, process workflow diagrams, and functional specifications, user acceptance test scripts, and other supporting documentation required for ServiceNow enhancements.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with internal users (IT, Finance, and HR clients) to better understand their business and identify ways to improve the functionality offered in ServiceNow.
  • Acts as project manager overseeing enhancements being managed by ServiceNow outsourced support (reviewing requirements, tracking expected due dates, and monitoring vendor hours used)
  • Develops and/or review project plans and track project progress accordingly.
  • Defines tracks and manages scope of assigned project(s).
  • Identifies and tracks issues / risk, prioritizes, identifies resolution or go forward assumptions and escalates to senior program management as needed.
  • Complies with established program management methodologies, practices and standards.
  • Oversees integrity of Change Control process for assigned projects.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for customers/clients to define projects and resolve various project/technology issues (e.g. articulate business information to the group, coordinate with customers' change in priorities).
  • Works directly with customers/clients for project definition and can articulate business information to the group.
  • Ensures training strategy is created and executed.
  • Ensures that HR policies and practices are adhered to with respect to organization transformation (i.e., works processes, roles, skills development and business continuity).
  • Maps stakeholders and assesses level of involvement/interest.
  • Maintains status of project and monitors activities of team members.
  • Responsible for regular reporting process to IT manager and client.
  • Works with management and audit (internal or external) to mitigate risk.
  • Coordinates with vendors for installation/implementation and issues resolution.
  • Maintains good relationships with customers and peer technical groups.
  • Sets team direction and goals, coaches and counsels assigned staff to accomplish goals.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years hands on project management experience.

  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Experience managing web application development projects.
  • Knowledge and application of formal project management methodologies and techniques such as: Rational Unified Process (RUP), PRINCE2, PMBOK, or Capability - Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
  • Development of project estimates.
  • Development of Project Charter containing baselined scope/timelin/budget.
  • Development /Maintenance of project work plans.
  • RFP/RFI development as necessary.
  • Definition/Execution of project governance models.
  • Development/Monitoring of Project Change Management.
  • Production of timely and accurate project status/dashboard reporting.
  • Issue/risk tracking and mitigation.
  • Project financial tracking.
  • Working knowledge of database administration and system engineering.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar software.
  • Proficient in MS Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • PMP Certification a plus.
